It's cooler than it sounds, honest. Okay so, the basics of are Princess Tutu are the following. There once was a storyteller named Drosselmeyer who could make stories come alive just by writing it. One day, he died before completing the story where a prince and raven were battling each other. The Raven flew out of the story as did the prince, and the prince sacrificed his heart in order to seal the raven. But he can't feel anymore. At which point, Ahiru (the main character), comes in. She's actually a duck who Drosselmeyer gave a magic brooch too, so she can turn into a human being and the magical Princess Tutu, and can bring back the prince's heart shards back to the prince, who now goes by the name of Mytho. Sounds simple? Not really, because Drosselmeyer is still there and manipulating events to suit HIS own version of the story by influencing reality. More info can be found here. This show really is awesome though, you think you know what's going to happen but then it switches completely around. I love this show to pieces and I suggest that all of you watch it. Part One of Episode One and parts Two and Three

Hey, I love that anime! I didn't give it a chance when it first showed on Animax Asia, I caught only random episodes and I kept doing: because I thought it was going to be predictable, and I LOVED Princess Kraehe, and I WANTED Rue to have the Prince because pure childhood loves growing into angsty teen loves are the best, and there were times when I WANTED Ahiru to die because she was so fluffy [lol, fluffy ducky], but she was adorable too, and yeah... But then I caught the ending episodes and I was surprised! So I watched the second run. I'm glad the production team were such literary people that foreshadowing and devices actually meant something to them and were used to good effect--such that the ending wasn't predictable and yet made perfect sense than any other ending anyone else could have thought up.
